Chinese/Sky Lanterns

Please remember that these small hot-air balloons are banned in Washington State.  Per the Chelan County Fire Marshall’s office, individuals releasing the lanterns could be responsible for associated costs if it were to cause a fire.  Owners have expressed concern not only for the fire danger but also for our properties, since remnants of crashed lanterns show up as litter on the landscape as the balloon, wires, and bags often do not decompose.
